Open Gulf Coast horizon at golden hour

Four Horizons

Your story belongs to you. Every interview is confidential, released only with your signed permission, and you review the final cut before anything is published.

A documentary series about people who documented their way through.

What this is

Four Horizons is a short documentary series filmed on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and over video call. Each episode is one person telling, in their own words, what it was like to go up against a college, an agency, an employer, or any system that was supposed to help them, and what it took to be believed. Some of the people in this series won their fights. Some are still inside them. Both count.

Who I am

I am an independent filmmaker and a student who has personally fought and documented every kind of case this series covers. I know what it costs to keep receipts. I know what it costs when nobody asks for them. I made this series because someone finally needs to ask.

How an interview works

  • We talk for 60 to 90 minutes. On the coast, at a public place you choose (the beach works), or by video call if you are far away.
  • I ask. You answer in your own words. There is no script and no performance.
  • We film at your comfort level, which you choose in writing before we roll.
  • You review your episode before anything is published. If something needs to come out, it comes out.
  • You can withdraw completely before publication, in writing, no questions asked.

You decide how you appear

  • Full name and face
  • First name only
  • Silhouette, no identifiable image
  • Voice only
  • A pseudonym, with a presenter speaking your recorded words on camera. Your testimony, delivered by someone else so you do not have to show your face.

Many of the people in this series have open or ongoing cases. That is normal here, and your anonymity choice protects you on camera the same way your documentation protects you on paper.

What I promise

  • Everything you tell me stays confidential unless and until you sign a release.
  • You approve your segment before release.
  • This is testimony, not litigation. I do not give legal advice and I make no promises about outcomes.
  • Public locations, a signed release, and a copy of everything for you.

How to reach out

Send me three sentences about what happened. That is all. No documents needed, no details you are not ready to share. I will reply personally, and we will take it from there.
